The jhumka is India’s most enduring jewellery form. Not because it is simple — it is not — but because it is complete. A dome, a stone, a bell, a chime. Everything it needs to be is already there. The Ruby & Emerald Antique Gold Filigree Jhumka Earrings honour that completeness without adding anything that does not belong.
The stud top is a floral filigree piece — an intricate gold flower with a central ruby stone and a granule cluster forming the bud — the kind of stud that would be a statement earring in its own right if the jhumka below it did not exist. From the stud, a short connector link allows the dome to swing naturally with every movement — the jhumka’s signature animation that no rigid setting can replicate.
The dome is where the work lives. Hand-engraved across its full surface in a scrolling floral motif — the kind of detail that requires a craftsperson with a steady hand and enough patience to do it properly — the dome is divided into panels by open lattice filigree borders.
