The baguette is the least famous diamond cut in fashion jewellery. Most pieces use round, pear, or marquise. The baguette — rectangular, step-cut, directional — is used in fine jewellery almost exclusively as a supporting stone: a channel-set accent, a pavé border, a side stone beside a solitaire. The result is the visual effect of a sunburst or solar corona: a single point of light at the origin, with rays of diamond cascading outward in every direction simultaneously.

The disc sits on a slim, clean, open-back yellow gold band — adjustable in size, unadorned, deliberately doing nothing to compete with the composition above it.
